Privacy Policy

How MeCode handles scanning, creation, history, sync, and device permissions.

MeCode is built to create, scan, save, manage, and export QR codes on iPhone. We designed the app with a privacy-first approach. MeCode does not use ads, analytics SDKs, third-party tracking SDKs, or developer-controlled servers for QR code content.

Information MeCode Handles

MeCode may handle the information you choose to enter, scan, save, or export inside the app, such as:

  • QR code text or URLs
  • Wi-Fi QR code details, such as network name and password
  • Email, phone, or contact QR code content you type into the app
  • Scan history, generated QR codes, favorites, and deleted states
  • Images you choose from your photo library for QR recognition
  • QR code images you save or share

MeCode processes this information to provide the app’s core features.

Camera and Photo Library

MeCode may ask for camera access so you can scan QR codes.

MeCode may ask for photo library access so you can select an image for QR recognition or save an exported QR code image. The app only uses the photo or image you choose for the feature you are using.

Local Storage

MeCode stores your QR code history, generated QR codes, favorites, and related app data on your device.

You can manage or delete saved records inside the app. Deleting app data from your device may also remove local records, depending on your iOS settings and iCloud sync state.

iCloud Sync

If iCloud is available and enabled on your device, MeCode may use Apple CloudKit to sync your QR code records, favorites, and deletion states across your Apple devices.

MeCode does not operate its own cloud server for this data. iCloud sync is provided by Apple and is subject to Apple’s privacy and iCloud terms. You can manage iCloud settings in the iOS Settings app.

No Tracking, Ads, or Analytics

MeCode does not:

  • Track you across apps or websites
  • Sell your data
  • Show ads
  • Use advertising identifiers
  • Use third-party analytics SDKs
  • Upload QR code content to third-party services

How MeCode Uses Information

MeCode uses the information handled by the app to:

  • Scan and recognize QR codes
  • Generate QR codes from the content you provide
  • Save and manage QR code history
  • Mark records as favorites
  • Export or share QR code images
  • Sync records across your Apple devices through iCloud, when available

MeCode does not use your QR code content for advertising, profiling, or marketing.

Sharing

MeCode only shares content when you choose to share or export it, such as through the iOS share sheet, saving an image, or opening a scanned link.

When you share content through Apple system features or another app, that sharing is handled by iOS and the receiving app. MeCode does not control how another app handles the content after you choose to share it.

Third-Party Services

MeCode does not send QR code content to third-party services for processing.

The app may rely on Apple system services and frameworks, including iOS camera, photo library access, local device storage, and CloudKit for iCloud sync.

Children’s Privacy

MeCode is a general-purpose utility app. It does not knowingly collect personal information from children. Because the app does not use developer-controlled accounts, ads, analytics, or tracking, we do not knowingly build user profiles for any age group.

Data Retention

MeCode keeps saved QR code records until you delete them in the app, remove the app, or change relevant iCloud settings.

If iCloud sync is enabled, deletion may sync across your Apple devices through CloudKit.

Your Choices

You can control MeCode’s access to camera, photos, and iCloud through iOS Settings.

You can also:

  • Delete saved QR code records in the app
  • Disable iCloud sync in iOS Settings
  • Remove MeCode from your device
  • Contact us with privacy questions

Security

MeCode uses Apple platform features to store and sync app data. No method of storage or transmission is perfect, but MeCode avoids unnecessary data collection and does not send QR code content to developer-controlled or third-party tracking servers.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when MeCode changes its features, data handling, or legal requirements. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date above.
